July 7th - 21st

Pardon my delay, it has been very busy.

What can I say? Its Homer in July. If you cant catch fish here at this time of year you need to see a witch doctor.

Halibut- Great, consistent 30-60lb overs with around one to three each day that are pushing over the 100# mark. (side note, I believe this past week marks the release of the largest halibut I have seen in 2 years. We hooked her off of Nord Island while fishing for rockfish. Took the angler awhile on that light jigging tackle)

Rockfish- Epic, limits, limits, limits yelloweye and blackies

Salmon - Kings are way out there near East Chugach but in solid numbers. Silvers have moved in and we got our first Silver limit July 19th. Pinks are everywhere hard to keep off anywhere closer than Pt. Adams.

Lings- Still lots of sublegal lingcod out there (hoping for more 35” fish in 2022) we have found the odd legal ling though.

Weather- Weather has been very cooperative. We had a few breezy afternoons this past week but nothing to call a trip over.

Really good day

This kiddo hooked and landed a halibut that outweighed him by at least 50lbs!
