September 1st - 19th 2021

Oh september how do I love thee….let me count the ways.

  1. Cause I am getting married on the 8th!!

  2. Cause the Kings are stacked up on silver ridge and easy to catch

  3. Cause the halibut are swarming over the sand waves and run the gamut from unders to shooters

  4. Cause the silvers are still here, hungry and easy

  5. Cause the rockfish are hungry, aggressive and still apparently suicidal.

I got to do something I rarely get to do, and that was take my family fishing. (yep my bachelor party was going fishing with my family) We went to the Barrens (duh) and we slobbed the halibut and the rocks. After the wedding we took everyone out for an afternoon of salmon fishing and despite us only doing a half day, we caught a load like it was a full day. Kings for everyone!! So cool to get to show my wife’s family what Alaska’s best fishing is like. This season has been excellent in every way. Great to finish the summer season off like this.
