Homer Alaska Fishing
“Captain Travis took us on the best fishing charter of our lives and we have done a lot of fishing charters. “
At Blount Adventure, we keep the action going all day!
Other companies will take you fishing for only halibut. But Halibut are tidal feeders- and we will typically catch all our halibut in an hour or two.
With Captain Travis, we fish for Rockfish, Salmon and more! This not only adds variety to your freezer, but allows us to keep the action going all day long.
If you are only interested in 1 species please call us (907) 299-1272
The Seasons
Spring and Fall
-
Spring - May 1st - June 15th
Fall - September 1st - 30th

SPRING Spring Fishing in Alaska is hard to beat. Not only is this the sunniest time of year, fishing can be incredible. Herring and Hooligan both spawn in the spring bringing halibut and kings in close to shore. Dodge the crowds and leave with fillets
FALL As the days shorten, the fish are triggered into something like a feeding frenzy. Halibut start making their way out of Cook Inlet, feeder kings typically come inside Kachemak Bay keying in on our tidal surge areas, rockfish know winter is coming so they are especially aggressive in the fall.

-
-
Summer is when the greatest number of species are available, its when the majority of tourism happens in Alaska and for a many reasons it is the peak of fishing for almost all species. The time that is in the greatest demand is the last 2 weeks of July and first 2 weeks of August. This is generally when the greatest number of different species are available to catch and the weather tends to be nice.

Winter

October 1st - April 30th

The primary target in winter is King Salmon. Halibut are still biting well into October. Rockfish are still around and hungry though the weather usually keeps us closer to the spit. We are however able to fish for Tanner (Snow) crab in Kachemak Bay in the winter. These crustaceans are delicious!! Winter in Kachemak bay can be stunningly beautiful.
